Insurance
In the State of Ohio insurance follows the vehicle. If you are stopped by a Police Officer, you must be able to provide proof of insurance at the time of the stop. If it is not available at that time, you are responsible to show proof of insurance at the time of your arraignment or when you come in to pay your citation. Failure to do so will result in an FRA Suspension by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles. If you have moved and failed to report your address, your “Notice of Suspension” will be sent to the address printed on your license and therefore you may not receive notice. It is your responsibility to notify the court of your current contact information.

Public Defender
To have a public defender appointed to your case, you must appear in person before the Magistrate.

The Police / Court Clerk is responsible for ensuring accuracy and timeliness in handling Court payments  as well as all Police Reports and Records.
