There are many risks and security issues involving the use of the Internet. Children and their parents should be most concerned about:
- Viewing inappropriate material
- Frauds and Scams
- Chat Rooms
Tips for Kids:

NEVER give out any personal information such as your address, telephone number

NEVER agree to get together with someone you “meet” online. Remember, you are talking to a stranger

NEVER respond to messages that make you feel uncomfortable
Tips for Parents:

Monitor your credit card bills

Consider commercially available Internet security products

Know what your children are doing on the Internet

Consider a “family” computer placed in a family room rather than a bedroom
Just like other types of crimes, Village residents are encouraged to report suspicious activity to the Amelia Police Department.
